Dodge to manufacture final batch of V-8 Hemi-powered Durangos, including Hellcat model, by year-end.
The era of the Hemi-powered Dodge Durango is coming to a close. The initial Last Call model has been released, and the manufacturer has revamped its Horsepower Finder to assist buyers in locating their ideal 2024 Durango SRT 392 AlcHemi.
Earlier this year, Dodge unveiled a special edition SUV with limited production. Only 1,000 units will be manufactured, with 250 available in each of the color options: black, two different shades of gray, and white. The Durango features striking yellow Brembo brakes, distinct graphics with yellow highlights, black exhaust tips, black badges, and 20-inch Satin Black wheels. Inside, the cabin is enhanced with yellow highlights and carbon-fiber trim.
Dodge’s Power Locator presently shows 424 AlcHemi SUVs available nationwide as of May 1st, with a starting price of $91,390 (this price includes the $1,595 destination charge). The company plans to refresh the list on a weekly basis.
The AlcHemi features a powerful 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 engine producing 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Power is delivered to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The AlcHemi will mark the discontinuation of the 475-hp Durango SRT 392. Production will cease in July at the end of the 2024 model year, while the Last Call editions will continue until 2025. Dodge plans to announce more information later this year regarding the Durango R/T and SRT Hellcat Last Call editions, which will be completed by December 31, 2024. This will signal the end of the line for the Durango’s V-8 Hemi engine.
