Nissan & Forsberg Bring Race Truck to SEMA

Forsberg Races in the NORRA 500

Nissan’s Frontier is taking to the track facilitated by Forsberg Racing and Formula Drift champion, Chris Forsberg. This collaboration with aerodynamic technicians is preparation for the National Off-Road Racing Association (NORRA) 500 event and only utilizes NISMO Off Road products for outfitting the midsize pick-up truck. By doing so, the Frontier will be eligible to contend in the stock vehicle category and demonstrate a profusion of attainable pieces on the racecourse.

“The Forsberg Racing team is ready to take the checkered flag with this robust vehicle, combining the amazing power of the Nissan Frontier with the specialized modifications of NISMO Off Road parts,” said Chris Forsberg. “The NORRA 500 is the perfect challenge for this purpose-built machine.”

The truck has been installed with a NISMO Off Road lift, high-performance suspension system, 17-inch Axis Truck Beadlock rims with Yokohama Geolander M/T G003 tires, lighting enhancements from NISMO Off Road, NISMO Off Road rock sliders and a Forsberg Racing graphics package provided by NISMO.

Apart from that, this would appear to be a standard Frontier PRO-4X, bearing in mind you get a 310 hp 3.8-liter V6, nine-speed automated transmission, all-wheel drive, a restricted-slip rear differential, a dual-range transfer case, underbody protective plates, and further. Unfortunatey, it does not include the V8 from the SEMA-unveiled NISMO Frontier V8 Conception, but we’ll excuse it, seeing as the V6 powerplant is fairly reliable.

The NORRA 500 boasts a diverse field of competitions that sprawl the duration of two days, commencing on the 19th of October and concluding on the 22nd. Hosted in Baja California, Mexico, the event will begin in Ensenada before heading to San Felipe along the Sea of Cortez, from here they’ll make their way back to Ensenada Beach.

Nissan is clearly aiming to evoke recollections of its legendary Hardbody truck conquering contests such as the Baja 1000 and Mint 400 during the 1980s. Fervently, the Frontier can reach similar reverence; though, it would be nice if it had been outfitted with the same signature rims observed on the Frontier Hardbody Edition.

After the contest, Nissan is transporting the truck to the 2023 SEMA exposition running from October 31st to November 3rd, leaving it without modification so spectators can inspect its effectiveness. Chris Forsberg and a few other unrevealed Nissan ideas will be tagging along.
