Porsche 911 Targa Unveils GTS Wheels, Ditches Camouflage

Unveiling the new 992.2 Neuenelfer facelift: coming soon!

The brand new 992 Porsche 911 maintains its striking appearance, yet it is a creation of a time when the pandemic was not even a thought – that’s how long ago it was unveiled in 2018. Recently, we received leaked images of the Targa model, giving us a glimpse of what to expect.

As per usual, the alterations will be just as understated as a hint of hazelnut in a delicious caffe latte. The vehicle being discussed is the 911 Targa, indicating that it boasts a fairly traditional roof design with a canvas top. Additionally, it is likely that this specific 911 Targa is a GTS variation, evident by its use of centerlock wheels.

Hasn’t it been only a short while since this was reserved solely for the GT3 RS model? The 911, in particular, is a shining example of Porsche’s expertise in reviving and modernizing without appearing outdated or behind the times.

We relish the chance to inspect lighting setups and wheel constructions, as Porsche has truly elevated its ingenuity and effectiveness in recent times by equipping its prototype vehicles with round, shapeless bumpers, effectively concealing the finer details of a fresh design.

In these images, we observe the new HD Matrix LED headlights at work, with the turn signal lights now more distinct and prominent than ever before. These innovative lighting units initially debuted on the revamped Cayenne, but have since been incorporated into the design of the new Macan electric crossover and its sedan counterpart, the completely overhauled Taycan. Similarly, the interior will also showcase upgraded displays like those found in these vehicles.

Naturally, the additional tape covering the headlights will eventually be removed, as we predict will also occur with the front bumper’s vanes once the final version is installed. Likewise, although the diffuser element appears to be production-ready, the current rear bumper is not the finished product and we anticipate a more refined appearance in the final design.

Beneath the car’s exterior, updated turbocharged flat-six engines will make their debut, but there are also rumors circulating about a possible naturally aspirated GTS model. Additionally, we anticipate the arrival of the very first 911 hybrid as part of the 922.2 version update.

The 911’s appearance may undergo alterations, but this upgrade will undoubtedly cause a stir in the realm of sports cars.
