Refined Marques Gives AMG G63 Convertible Makeover

At the weekend, esteemed supercar merchant Refined Marques debuted their inaugural personalized model – a posh Mercedes-AMG G63 Convertible, with only 20 examples being authored worldwide and retailing at 1.2 million Euros (1.32 million USD). Anyone conversant with the G-Class cognizance that while previously the G had been offered as a drop-top, it has not been available in the G63 version.

The conception originated when the owner’s five-year-old son inquired if the Brabus G700 he was driving in could be reconstructed with a convertible top and a minor portal for him to climb out of. Furthermore, Jon Olsson fashioned a convertible of the same auto with a more impressive conclusion.

Among the frustrated G500 Cabriolet proprietors who reached out to Refined Marques to purchase a G63 Cabrio, one buyer (a widely renowned model) bemoaned breaking a heel and ripping her attire when getting out of the back of her G500. It took 18 months to complete the development of the car, and a group from Germany comprised of F1 and supercar mechanics was tasked with doing the modifications. In order to make simplifying the roof operation a top priority, they put forth their best effort.

The G500 Final Edition demands a number of activities for its opening roof; yet it can now be operated by merely engaging the brake pedal, unlocking the locks on both the driver and passenger side, and pushing a single button. Furthermore, the roof may even be folded down whilst the vehicle is in motion.

The debut of the first of twenty Mercedes-AMG G63 Cabrios was unveiled last weekend at an elite happening in Monaco. Decked out with a heavenly China Blue finish and highlighted by a red leather interior furnished with subservient blue stitching, the convertible top was also bedecked in feisty red. Although the other nineteen will not have same design, as each one will be individually tailored the customization possibilities are endless, ranging from paint to color of the roof to internal spec. No two creations will be exactly alike!
