Restored ’70 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400: Out of Trans Am’s Shadow

Pontiac Restomod: Classic Meets Modern

The video above displays our extraordinary Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 design, with restomod looks that aren’t subdued at all. Its double nose, long bonnet, and distinctive features are unmistakable despite some major alterations to this celebrated model. Although the Formula 400 was secondary to the Trans Am in the model array for 1970, this refreshed version chose to truly go Maverick and incorporate some of its components such as the shaker hood and fender vents. Even though the significant changes present, there is still lots of 70s American aesthetics here including the rear window louvers, the classic illumination, and the sound of a carb-fed pushrod V8 with a few miles.
