In accordance with Automotive News, citing Munro & Associates, the Texas-produced Model Y has been innovated featuring an all-wheel drive (AWD) dual motor powertrain utilizing the 4680 battery cells. As a result, the EPA estimated range for this model is now 279 miles, instead of the 330 miles projected for the Model Y Long Range version.
Furthermore, Tesla presented a new variation in the configurator, additionally decreasing the prices of both the Long Range and Performance editions of the Model Y by two thousand dollars. The Long Range edition can now begin at fifty four thousand six hundred thirty dollars (with a shipping cost of thirteen hundred ninety dollars), whereas the Performance version opens at fifty eight thousand six hundred thirty dollars (with the same shipping price).
