Volkswagen California Spied Before Launch

Do-It-All Camper Van: Now at Dealers!

Several months ago, Volkswagen’s Commercial Vehicles sector exposed the California Concept Camper Van asserting that it was nearly identical to its real-life counterpart. True to their word, it appears that the manufactured version looks like a Swiss Army knife-style vehicle. Now, The California has been sighted with Multivan branding, yet more significantly, its up-and-over roof indicates it is more than just a public conveyor.

One may generally contemplate camping as ideal for temperate conditions; however, certain thrill seekers enjoy facing the elements in colder climates. Such daring people seek an accommodation that offers protection from frosty temperatures, such as a pop-up roof structure.

In terms of styling, the front grille is almost the same as the concept car; however, six new intakes appear beneath the Volkswagen emblem, framed by LED running lights. An eye-catching chrome accent flows down a side panel, revealing a port that likely holds a charging plug for hybrid propulsion. Visiting the back, the line culminates in sharply angled taillights, which thankfully do not fit into the popular trend of connecting each other.

A line extending from the front portals to the back trumps the shut lines at the posterior, and though a white vehicle is not often complemented by a white color palette, we must lavish praise on the creators for adeptly obscuring the dimensions of this general purpose van.

Sadly, the recent news of California camper van’s launch has been of little significance to us American citizens. We may be gifted with some special prizes for our General American-spec ID. Nevertheless, even a conversion/camper version would not mean much at this point in time.

Reaching towards a dreamy classic vehicle may often take us to one vehicle in specific; the vintage Volkswagen van. However, for those looking for something a bit more updated and roomy, yet with all of the same charm, the Ford Transit Camper Van offers that perfect balance. Additionally, if one seeks to customize their ride, aftermarket resources are also quite popular and very prosperous! We’ve spotted a number of amazing builds, outfitted with every detail imaginable — from roof tents to whatever else your imagination desires.
