FoxbodyFX: Aged Gentleman’s Mustanged Inspiration
Swapping out a cherished sports car in favour of a more spacious wagon or SUV is something that lots of parents can relate to. This is but one of the many minor sacrifices that must be made as families increase in size.
The protagonist of the most recent video from FoxbodyFX’s YouTube channel is identical. Decades ago, he got rid of his Ford Mustang and replaced it with a station wagon. His scheme was to obtain another Mustang muscle vehicle when it was more feasible, and 50 years later, the 90-year-old Navy Veteran ultimately did.
Host of FoxbodyFX, Lance, details the origins of this video. Chris, a Mustang enthusiast, had asked him to make a Foxbody-related present for his 90-year-old neighbor who drives a 3rd generation Ford Mustang every day. After learning Jack’s age, Lance was instantly interested and came to meet Chris and his elderly neighbor.
Chris and Jack initially found each other 11 years back when Chris relocated, and immediately formed a connection due to their mutual interest in Blue Oval muscle cars. Even at 90, Jack retains his Mustang and joyrides it consistently.
Jack’s classic Mustang is an exceptional red, 5.0-liter, V8 Fox Body with 85,000 miles on it that he procured 20 years ago. However, his devotion to the Mustang marque starts much earlier than this, dating all the way back to 1965, when he first made the purchase of his initial Stang.
Unfortunate for Jack, his Ford muscle auto wasn’t the ideal situation. With a growing family, he had to bid farewell to it and welcome a station wagon. Nonetheless, he could never completely detach himself from his ardent appreciation of Mustangs.
Jack eventually found himself with an opportunity to purchase a Ford Mustang GT convertible in 2003 for approximately $5,000. From that time on, the vehicle has performed admirably. His two grandsons even used it as a primary form of transportation intermittently, and even Jack still takes it out fairly regularly. Besides replacing the front seating and installing a fresh soft top, the car is nearly in its original condition.
Jack has had a fulfilling life experience, having devoted himself to his nation, nourishing a family, and notwithstanding his advanced age, is still persuing his aspirations by piloting a Ford Mustang that he is so fond of.
