Koenigsegg Gemera Designer Upgrades Tesla Line with Aftermarket Wheels

Unplugged Performance recently debuted the UP-05, a series of custom wheels designed for all Tesla models including the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y. These aftermarket wheels are tailored specifically for Tesla vehicles, providing an enhanced driving experience.

The UP-05 is a joint venture between Unplugged Performance and Sasha Selipanov, the previous lead designer at Koenigsegg responsible for the exterior and interior styling of the Gemera hyper GT. He also played a key role in designing the CC850, following his positions as head of exterior design for Bugatti and chief designer for Genesis.

Selipanov, the creator of Hardline27, joined forces with Unplugged Performance for the first time when they worked on the design of aftermarket wheels for the much-anticipated Cybertruck, prior to its release in the previous year.

According to Unplugged Performance, their latest creation, the UP-05, was specifically crafted to “infuse Teslas with hypercar DNA,” paying homage to the renowned designer Selipanov’s previous masterpieces. Constructed from 6061-T6 forged aluminum, the Y-spoked UP-05 boasts a mere weight of 19 pounds and is compatible with OEM Tesla center caps, lug nuts, and TPMS sensors, ensuring a hassle-free installation process.

According to Ben Schaffer, CEO of Unplugged Performance, “The UP-05 is a design masterpiece and we’re excited to introduce Tesla drivers worldwide to Sasha Selipanov’s iconic design skills. This wheel embodies the ideal combination of hypercar design elements and UP’s well-known performance and durability that can be found on all UP forged wheels.”

The tuning company, with its focus on Tesla vehicles, announced that the UP-05 has successfully completed thorough testing, guaranteeing sturdiness and top-notch performance for both racing and everyday driving. Moreover, the wheels come equipped with knurled wheel rims in the barrel section, effectively minimizing tire slip during intense acceleration.

Unplugged Performance provides a variety of UP-05 sizes, spanning from 18 to 22 inches. The aim is to cater to the diverse preferences and driving techniques of Tesla car enthusiasts. These wheels come in four different shades: Satin Titanium, Satin Black, Gloss Black, and Satin Bronze. Additionally, personalized finishes are an option for those who desire a more unique look rather than the standard options.

A package of four UP-05 rims begins at $3,595. The priciest bundle carries a tag of $6,595, offering a 22-inch size and personalized coating for the Model X. It should be emphasized that the UP-05 can be utilized with all versions of the Model X, Y, and 3 – including the updated model – however, it is only suitable for the 2021 or newer Model S Plaid and Model S Long Range.
