Datsun 240Z Carbon Fiber Widebody in 26 Days

KevMannz Presents: Carbon Fiber Widebody Kit.

Widebody versions of the Datsun 240Z, the 50 year old forerunner to the Nissan Z franchise, are not a rarity; however, KevMannz, a Thai specialist on carbon-fibre, could very well have one of the most unique. Showcased at the 40th Thailand International Motor Expo, this vehicle may give off the feeling that it has been some time in the making, yet it was all assembled within 26 days!

Edd Ellison has astounded us yet again with his skillful crafting of this carbon-fiber construction from Thailand. This beautiful structure is even more remarkable considering the complexity involved in both the designing and building stages. It is indeed difficult to together fathom the awe that this marvelous V8-engined 240Z inspired in Malaysia.

As an expert in composite materials based in Thailand, KevMannz relies on forged carbon fiber as their prime material of choice for the widebody kit. Additionally, the kit includes custom front and back lighting clusters.

Situated between the carbon hood and oversized lip sits an enormouse mesh grille that grants admittance to the intercooler. This aero element can also be witnessed in the air intake and exhaust vents which are embedded within the broad wheel arch, flaunting its 18-inch five-spoke SSR wheels cloaked in 265/35 tires on the fore and 285/35 tires at the aft.

The face of the vehicle is provided with Nissan brakes, while the posterior is fitted with suspension and brakes sourced from one of the most renowned Japanese vehicles to date, the Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R.

At the rear, the 240Z creation is outfitted with vintage-style round taillights, a large rear guard, a diffuser, and dual exhaust tips.

Curiously, the crafted carbon fiber components persist into the inside of the car, utilized for both the seats and door panels. Constructed with the purpose of preserving its sporty atmosphere, KevMannz made sure to include an Alcantara dashboard adorned with orange stitching.

Regrettably, no engine specifications were divulged. That said, if it is stock, the Nissan L 6-cylinder should be able to produce up to 300-400 hp with the right tuning and modifications.

This Nissan 240Z appears to be well-prepared for some track racing, although there could still be certain modifications that need to be implemented, for instance a roll cage.
