The return of Lancia has been confirmed! However, it may not be the grand comeback we were anticipating with a revival of their iconic Delta Integrale rally car. Nonetheless, the upcoming Ypsilon is a significant development seeing as it marks the brand’s first new release since 2011. Despite its official debut scheduled for next month, we can already catch a glimpse at its aesthetics.

It is being captured by an Alfa Romeo Stelvio camera vehicle, presumably for promotional purposes. While the quality of the footage may not be flawless, it provides a comprehensive view of the latest Ypsilon from various angles.
While examining the latest Ypsilon, one can certainly observe clear influences from the well-known Pu-Ra HPE concept. However, what truly stands out is the incorporation of design elements from legendary models such as the 037 and Stratos. In essence, this compact city car boasts a sleek appearance with a distinct front end. Yet, it must be noted that noticeable similarities can also be found in other Stellantis vehicles. This should come as no surprise as Lancia, Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel all share common foundations. Thus, the overall body proportions of the new Ypsilon bear a striking resemblance to those of the Opel Corsa and Peugeot 208.
Based on current information, the latest hatchback from Italy will be available with both hybrid and fully electric power options. Drawing comparisons to its counterparts Corsa and 208, it is expected that the electric variant will feature a 52-kilowatt-hour battery pack and a solitary electric motor located in the front axle, capable of producing up to 156 horsepower at its peak. This marks a significant increase in power for the new Ypsilon, as the previous version sold exclusively in Italy boasted a modest 70-horsepower three-cylinder engine with hybrid capabilities.
