3 Electrified Pickup Trucks from Stellantis by 2026

Hybrid Powertrain: One of Two Possibilities

Earlier this month, Stellantis announced plans to hold the “Commercial Vehicles Ambition Day” on October 23 to reveal its vision for vans and trucks. In the run-up to the event slated for next Monday, the auto giant is introducing Stellantis Pro One – the new name of its light commercial vehicle (LCV) business unit. This entity encompasses no fewer than six brands: Citroën, Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, and Vauxhall.

Come next Monday, the Stellantis Pro team are set to unveil a new series of vans designed for all six of their brands. Taking into account that the Fiat Ducato had recently been witnessed being tested (as demonstrated here below), we may well be in store for an update to the full-sized van as well as it’s various incarnations, akin to the Ram ProMaster, Opel Movano, Vauxhall Movano, Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Jumper. Concerning the Promaster, Stellantis have confirmed that the benefit of an Electric Vehicle version is due to be inaugurated later this year.

The freshly founded commercial division plans to introduce four electrified pickups over the ensuing two years. The Ram 1500 REV is one of them, accompanied by a hydrogen-fueled pickup. These prospective models form part of a revamped selection of vans and trucks in North America that will be gradually unveiled over the upcoming years. Stellantis Pro One has pledged a more environmentally friendly lineup supplemented by a second-generation electric drivetrain featuring improved range and the already discussed hydrogen energy cell setup.

The LCV sector is of immense significance for Stellantis, since it makes up a third of its total net revenues. Last year, the company sold 1.6 million units, but according to LCV boss Jean-Philippe Imparato, “we have still to do some homework” in order to outdo Ford Pro. The head honcho further mentioned that the compact vans like the Citroën Berlingo, Fiat Doblo, Peugeot Partner, Opel Combo, and Vauxhall Combo will all be upgraded in 2024. At the same time, the midsize Opel Vivaro, Vauxhall Vivaro, Peugeot Expert, and the Fiat Scudo will also be refreshed.
